Rochester, N.Y.- The Rochester Fire Department now has its first female captain.
Five Rochester firefighters moved up the ranks on Monday, including Lt. Christine Schryver.
The 16-year veteran became the first female Captain in Rochester Fire Department history on Monday.
Capt. Schryver will lead the fire safety division under the direction of the fire marshal.
