Rochester, N.Y. - It was a service that spoke to everyone. Half of Tomasz Kaczowka's funeral was given in Polish, the rest in English. The message was the same. The 19-year-old West Webster firefighter was loved and is missed by many.

"I will always remember him as an optimistic, loving individual with a contagious smile who always put the needs of others before his own," said Darek Kaczowka, Tomasz' brother.

More than 2,000 first responders from all over the world came to St. Stanislaus church in Rochester. Some stayed outside as the church was packed; others watched the service from overflow rooms.

At the conclusion of his Eulogy, Darek Kaczowka thanked all first responders for their service.

One week ago, Tomasz Kaczowka was killed by a gunman who targeted first responders. Two men died, two others were injured.
