Greece, N.Y. – Funeral services are set for a retired Gates Police officer who was hit and killed by a car Saturday morning in Greece.
Sung “Sonny” Chung, 47, died after being hit on West Ridge Road.
Investigators say an SUV went off the road and ran up on the sidewalk before flipping over, hitting Chung. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Chung served for both the Rochester Police Department and Gates Police Department for more than ten years.
His family says calling hours will be held Monday, June 11 from 4-6 p.m. at Roberts Wesleyan College. Funeral services will follow. A private service will be held for Chung’s family next Tuesday.
