Geneseo, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they've filed charges against a Geneseo man shot by a trooper to keep him from shooting his father.
State police say Gregory Walsh, 21, was charged Tuesday with two counts of menacing for his actions on the night of Jan. 21 at a home in Livingston County.
Authorities say when police responded to a report of a suicidal man, they found Kevin Walsh trying to calm down his son, who was holding a long gun.
Police say the son hit his father with the gun, then pointed the weapon at him. A trooper shot Gregory Walsh in the shoulder when he refused orders to drop the gun.
He's being held in the county jail on $10,000 bail. It could not be determined if he had a lawyer.
