Rochester, N.Y. - Viewers, listeners and sponsors helped raise nearly a quarter of a million dollars for the Golisano Children's Hospital during the Drive For Miracles.
The phone-a-thon and radio-a-thon spanned Thursday and Friday, bringing in more than $217,000 for the hospital, the most ever in the fundraiser's 12-year history.
13WHAM News partnered with WHAM 1180 radio and 100.5 The Drive for the fundraiser.
The money will go toward the construction of a new standalone hospital for children at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
That $145-million children's hospital is expected to open in 2015.
