(New York, N.Y.) - Tom Golisano, the billionaire founder and chairman of Paychex, made the single largest gift to the Special Olympics in the organization’s history.

Golisano announced he’s giving $12 million at former president Bill Clinton’s Global Initiatives conference in New York City. The money will be used to fund programs for people with intellectual disabilities and other programs in six states and seven countries.

“We must do even more to eliminate the health disparities that people with intellectual disabilities face,” Golisano said in a statement.
