Greece, N.Y.--Two workers from the State Department of Environmental Conservation are being called good Samaritans after they helped free a man pinned underneath a van.
The man was struck by the van Monday while riding his bike across West Ridge Road, near Home Depot.
The impact pinned him under the van. The driver attempted to use his car jack to lift the car and free the victim, but it wasn't enough.
That's when the two workers pulled over and physically lifted the van off of the victim.
They left before police arrived, so we do not have their names.
The bicyclist, 30 year old Adam Rio of Greece, suffered internal injuries and was taken to the hospital.
He told police he was on his cell phone when he was hit by the van.
The driver was not charged. Police say he was not at fault.
