(Rochester, N.Y.) - Governor Paterson's visit with Officer Anthony DiPonzio on Wednesday was a far cry from their first meeting.
They shook hands, spoke, and even joked.
"In spite of the fact he glorified the Red Sox, he was lucid, and he spoke freely," Governor Paterson said.
In January, DiPonzio was shot while in the line of duty. He is now undergoing therapy at St. Mary’s
Paterson also saw DiPonzio the very night he was shot. Paterson said he can’t believe how far DiPonzio has progressed. The Governor likened the miracle of DiPonzio’s recovery to the recent plane landing on the Hudson River.
