Rochester, N.Y. - A man was stopped at the Greater Rochester International Airport checkpoint on Sunday after a TSA officer detected that a belt in the passenger’s carry-on bag contained an unusual buckle.
The buckle was a dual purpose buckle/knife that could easily be removed and used as a weapon. The man, from Virginia, was flying to Reagan Washington National Airport.
After an investigation, he was permitted to place the belt in his checked baggage. There was no impact to airport operations.
