Rochester, N.Y. – The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday the arrested on Terrance Junot III, 36, of Greece, with production of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, Junot allegedly exchanged hundreds of sexually explicit messages and pictures via the smart phone application ‘Tango’ and Facebook, with a 13-year-old female.

“The victim’s mother checked her child’s cell phone, found the photographs, and immediately reached out to police,” said U.S. Attorney William Hochul.

Greece Police and the FBI Cyber-Crimes Task Force searched the phone, finding the images and messages exchanged.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office claims that the victim’s family had known Junot for years. The criminal complaint shows the victim’s mother claimed that Junot had been alone with the victim and had driven the victim home from social gatherings in the past.

On Thursday, Junot was interviewed at his Greece home, where he admitted to having exchanged the messages with the minor. Junot then told an officer “everything was done for the wrong reasons,” and “I know it’s wrong.”

Junot is currently being detained pending a detention hearing on March 25.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood.
