Greece, N.Y. - A Greece man is facing several charges after police say he drove drunk and slammed into a police cruiser on Fetzner Road early Sunday morning.

Greece Police officers were responding to a call at the Mall at Greece Ridge around 12:45 a.m.

That's when police say 31-year-old Paul Mandell sped toward an officer's car, crossing the double yellow lines.

Officer Michael Miller was able to slow down and veer slightly -- avoiding a head-on collision.

Mandell's car sideswiped the police cruiser, causing extensive damage to both cars' drivers' side doors.

Officer Miller was treated at Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and has been released.

Mandell was treated at the scene. He's charged with Felony DWI and other traffic infractions.
