Hammondsport, N.Y. - Hammondsport tied with Beaufort, North Carolina in the Coolest Small Town contest from Budget Travel.
Voting ended last night with Hammondsport finishing second.
The Budget Travel Website crashed because of heavy traffic, declaring the company to rule the vote as a tie.
The contest was open to towns with populations under 10,000. This is the seventh year of the Coolest Small Town contest.
