Canandaigua, N.Y. – A high-risk sex offender is charged with failing to register a new address with the state registry.

Grant Ackley, 61, was arrested on a warrant by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies for failing to register a new address in Canandaigua.

Ackley pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse in November 1994 for abusing a seven-year-old girl in Ogden. He was sentenced to two-and-a-half to five years in state prison.

As a Level Three offender, Ackley is required to register his address with the state for life. Level Three is considered the highest risk to offend again.

Ackley was taken to Ontario County jail on $2,500 bail, $5,000 bond.
