Rochester, N.Y. - A developer could tear down an historic church downtown to make way for a retailer--but some people don't want it to happen.
The church was built on West Main Street in 1870 as the Westminister Presbyterian Church. Its owner wants to tear it down and build a Dollar General store.
Neighbors oppose the move.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will hear the case on Thursday and could make a decision on whether to allow the project to proceed.
