Honor Flight Welcomes Veterans Sunday

Rochester, N.Y. - A public welcoming reception for returning veterans will be held at the airport on Sunday through "Honor Flight."

“Honor Flight” is a network that flies WW II veterans to Washington DC to visit memorials built in their honor.

Air Tran Flight #279 arrives on Father’s Day, June 17, at 11:01 a.m.; the public reception will be on the first floor, International Room.

WW II vet Stan Rychlicki who was one of the original crew members of the 531st Bomber Squadron will speak. Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks will also speak. The public is encouraged to join the Welcome Home reception.
