Rochester, N.Y. - The Red Cross recognized some hometown heroes on Saturday.
Seven Good Samaritans were recognized for helping those in need. They were recognized for everything from alerting neighbors to a house fire, to donating blood.
"I think it's important for the common man to be honored for certain heroic things that they do," said Lee Nearpass, who nominated a friend to be honored on Saturday.
The honors were part of a festival to raise money for the American Red Cross, and its ongoing Disaster Relief Fund.
This was the second year for the festival.
