Albany, N.Y. /Washington, D.C. - A sweeping health care reform bill is now in the hands of the Senate after the House passed it late Saturday night.
Democrats Louise Slaughter and Dan Maffei voted for it.
Democrat Eric Massa and Republican Chris Lee voted against it.
Lee said the bill amounts to a takeover of our healthcare system. "The taxes will hit small businesses and middle America at a time when we have unemployment at 10.2 percent in this country. This bill is completely irresponsible.”
Lee says he is also concerned the House bill does nothing to address "liability reform" in medicine.
