Rochester, N.Y. - People painted the town rainbow in Rochester Saturday afternoon.
Hundreds lined the streets for the annual Pride Parade.
Floats from local gay rights groups, many decked out with rainbow flags, made their way down Park Avenue.
Many say it's a time to celebrate and gather as a community.
"It just brings everybody together," Mary Anne Price says. She attended the parade with her partner and son. "We are all together and we live our lives day to day, but this gives us a time together in a fun way."
After the parade, many gathered at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre for the Pride Festival, which included appearances by local drag queens, performers from Geva's production of "Avenue Q," and singer Jessica Sutta.
The week of celebrations ends Sunday with the annual Pride Picnic.
