Greece, N.Y. - Nick Vito’s haunted house in Greece has been a Halloween tradition for the last decade.
“Kids love it, the neighborhood loves it,” said Vito.
But to Vito, what's even scarier than his haunted house is a hurricane named Sandy that’s scheduled to bring monstrous weather our way around Halloween.
“If it becomes too dangerous, if the wind is too much and the rain is too much I'll just shut everything down and pull everything in,” said Vito.
RG&E is one of the many companies gearing up for the potential impact
“We've had a lot of people spending a lot of time preparing for the potential damages Hurricane Sandy could bring to our area,” said Dan Hucko of RG&E.
Downed trees into power lines is RG&E's biggest concern.
“We're checking our supplies, our storage, our vehicles, our equipment,” said Hucko, “to make sure that we have everything we need to get out there once the storm has passed and start to restore power as safely and as quickly as possible.
RG&E already has crews on standby.

“I'm hoping the storm doesn't affect it too much,” said Vito. “The canopy is tied down.”
