Irondequoit, N.Y. - Boaters upset with a new law in Irondequoit are taking their case to the state.

The law they don’t like requires boaters to stay 300 feet offshore along a half-mile stretch of Lake Ontario. They argue the law makes public waters private.

Homeowners along that stretch say they’ve have been repeatedly bothered by noisy drunken boaters anchored too near their property.

The law passed after homeowners complained about the parties.
