LONDON – Another Western New York native will return home with an Olympic medal.
Jake Kaminski of Elma, Erie County, helped the United States win its first medal of the London Olympics with a silver in the men’s team archery final Saturday.
The U.S. beat Korea in the semifinals before falling to Italy by one arrow, 219-218, in the final.
Michelle Frangilli shot a perfect 10 on his final shot give Italy the gold.
Kaminski will now compete in the men’s individual tournament through Aug. 3.
