Rochester, N.Y. – Saturday was Make a Difference Day, and some local students did just that.
A group of students from Northstar Christian Academy helped finish a community garden for the Josana Neighborhood in the city’s northwest quadrant.
The students joined Flower City Habitat for Humanity to bring in plants and lay down grass as part of an ongoing revitalization effort.
“We’re actually making this place a spot for the whole community to really come together and see all the life we’re actually bringing to the city,” said David Hayden, a student volunteer. “Not just this alone, but we’re constructing houses for other people and, in the near future, hundreds of homes for low-income families.”
