Rochester, N.Y. - Because the nation celebrates its birthday on Wednesday, July 4, most government offices, banks and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed.
If you live in the city, garbage pickup will be delayed one day for the rest of the week. Many suburban companies delay trash pick up as well.
The Genesee Valley Park pool will be open for swimming Wednesday.
Durand Eastman Beach and Ontario Beach will also be open during regular swimming hours.
Parades, Barbecues, and fireworks are the order of the day.
