Washington, D.C. - There's a close tie between New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and "Nashville" star Connie Britton.
The two are friends, and went to college together.
"Connie Britton is a great actress, she's also a wonderful friend," said Gillibrand. "We both went to Dartmouth College and as undergraduates we both had an Asian studies focus, and we learned Chinese and studied Mandarin and went to China for three months together."
Gillibrand says she's a big fan of the show "Nashville."
