Victor, N.Y. – Some generous local residents pitched in for a mile of smiles Saturday at Eastview Mall.

Local Kiwanis clubs held their annual Miracle Mile fundraiser. Money raised will help build the waiting room at the new Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, which is expected to open in 2015.

Organizers say they love to see people, especially kids, giving back.

“Young kids seem to have a real affinity for the other kids in the hospital,” said John Hanratty, a local Kiwanis member. “In turn, the shoppers have a real generous ability to give to those children because they know it’s sincere. So we're really proud of the young Kiwanis who came out to raise money.”
