Washington, D.C. - The White House announced the appointment of Kodak CEO Antonio Perez to the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness on Wednesday.
The goal of the team is to find ways to promote American businesses, and encourage job hiring within the private sector.
Perez will serve under chairman Jeffrey Immelt, who serves as the CEO and Chairman of General Electric.
Xerox CEO Ursula Burns also serves on the council as an ex-officio member.
"I am proud that such experienced and committed individuals have agreed to serve the American people in these important roles," President Obama said in a statement. "I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead."
