A Lake snow warning is in effect through Tuesday evening in Wyoming County.
A wind chill advisory is also in effect after midnight in Wyoming County. A Lake effect snow watch is in effect for Monroe, Orleans, and Wayne Counties from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning.
The heaviest snow will likely be found southwest of Rochester where 2-6” could fall tonight in Wyoming County.
The temperature will also be dropping into the teens this evening with a low near 7 Monday night in Rochester.
The southwest wind will increase after midnight and this will push the wind chill down to -10 to -15 at times Tuesday morning.
Lake effect snow will continue in the bitter cold air for Tuesday and Wednesday.
As the wind shifts back to the west and northwest the lake snow areas will be found on the south shore of Lake Ontario.
While most areas on Tuesday will find less than 2” of snow, up to 6” will be possible in persistent snow areas near Lake Ontario.
The high will only be near 15 with sub zero wind chills continuing.
Expect more lake snow showers Tuesday night with another 2-6” of snow possible in sustained lake snow areas. Tuesday night’s low will be near 6.
Wednesday will be bitter cold, but not as windy. Occasional lake snow showers will continue with a high in the mid teens.
A few sunny breaks return with some flurries on Thursday. The high will be near 20. Steady area-wide snow will develop Friday with a high in the mid 20s.
