Oswego, N.Y. (AP) – Three environmental protection entities are asking people living along Lake Ontario and its tributaries for their input at community workshops being held this week at six locations in Central and Western New York.

Organizers say the aim is to gain information from residents in the region on the current status of the Lake Ontario basin and how the watershed's ecosystem can be protected.

The workshops are being held by the Oswego-based New York Seat Grant, the Finger Lakes-Lake Ontario Watershed Protection Alliance and the Niagara County Soil and Water Conservation District.

They're scheduled for Monday in Lyndonville in Orleans County, Tuesday in Piffard in Livingston County, Wednesday in Webster, Thursday in Henderson in Jefferson County, and in Sodus in Wayne County and Oswego on Friday.
