People who work the "graveyard shift" are at a higher risk for heart attack and stroke.

A new study in the British Medical Journal links working the late shift to a 23 percent increase in heart attack risk, and a 5 percent stroke risk.

The study compares “graveyard shift” workers to those working 9 to 5 jobs.

Lack of sleep, poor eating habits and lower levels of physical activity are linked to people working overnights and thus drive up the risks.
