Livonia, N.Y. – Students at Livonia Primary School head back to class Wednesday for the first time since a July 5 fire caused heavy damage.

Fourth- and fifth-grade classes will use the Connell Building until construction on the damaged building is completed later in the fall.

Principal Matthew Cole said the school is grateful for the community support it has received, including donations from many local organizations.

“Through the good work of lots and lots of people here and the generosity of our community, we’re not going to trip over any more molehills,” Cole said. “We’re ready to go. There’s been moments this summer when you don’t think you’re going to make it, but you do through the support of each other, so we’ll be ready to open. It’s pretty exciting.”
