Local Schools Make "Best Colleges" List

Rochester, N.Y. - Local colleges in the Greater Rochester area are being recognized in the U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings.

The University of Rochester, Roberts Wesleyan College and Hobart and William Smith College saw better rankings in their respective categories than last year. SUNY Geneseo, The College at Brockport, St. John Fisher College and Nazareth College dropped from their 2012 lists.

Other highlights: The University of Rochester was ranked 33rd in the National University category, and SUNY Geneseo was ranked the top school on the "Best Undergraduate Teaching" institutions list.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings include a plethora of categories, from Best Liberal College to Best Value Schools. Everything from enrollment numbers to grade point averages are factored into the rankings.
