Rochester, N.Y. - A new report from the New York State Department of Labor revealed a year-to-year increase in the unemployment rate in the Rochester area.
Rochester's jobless rate was 8.3 percent in August. In August 2011, the unemployment rate stood at 7.5 percent.
However, our area is faring better than the rest of the state. New York's unemployment rate is 9.1 percent.
