Brighton, N.Y. – Students and staff at Monroe Community College marked the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks Tuesday morning with a remembrance ceremony.
While many similar ceremonies around the area and country are remembering the victims, they’re trying to find more of a balance between remembering and recovering.
"I think as the years start to progress, we come together less so in mourning but more in unity and national pride,” student Scott Blue said. “I think it means remembering those that we lost, not only in the sense of sadness, but in the sense that they are a part of our history in this great nation.”
