Canandaigua, N.Y. - Emergency crews rescued a man from a 100-foot gorge after he plunged off the cliff while driving a lawn mower.

Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say 68-year-old Doug Preston is a long-time employee and groundskeeper at the Bristol Harbour Resort in Canandaigua.

Other employees noticed the man was missing this morning just before 10 a.m. and went looking for him. Preston may have been stuck in the gorge for up to four hours.

He is currently in critical condition.
