Rochester, N.Y. – The Manhattan Square Park Ice Rink opened to skaters on Sunday.
Admission if $5 for adults, $2 for children, and $14 for families. Season passes are also available.
Karen Piedic, the rink manager, believes the rink is important to downtown.
“This is just very important. So many of these children come - there's a lot of them who live in the high-rises and they come over here every day. It's something you think they would never have the opportunity to do, but they do,” said Piedic.
New this year is a lodge available to rent in the space formerly occupied by the canopy restaurant.
The rink was expanded and renovated in 2008, and attracts thousands of families every year.
