Rochester, N.Y. - Many families took advantage of Saturday's nice weather to stop and smell the roses.

The Annual Maplewood Rose Festival is underway this weekend.

More than 300 varities of roses are in full bloom at the garden.

Maplewood is one of the few accredited rose gardens in the United States.

Organizers say the festival, now in its 22nd year, has blossomed.

"It started small," says organizer Cindy Kaleh. "It just got bigger and bigger ... and then it was almost too big, so we've shrunk it back a bit. Now we've sort of settled into this size."

The celebration continues through Sunday.
