Lyons, N.Y. (AP) — A newlywed from Williamson has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for bludgeoning and stabbing his Texas-born wife last Thanksgiving Day.
Bryon Drennan was convicted in September of second-degree murder for killing Stefanie Casey, a 28-year-old native of Carrollton, north of Dallas. He drew the maximum sentence Thursday in a Wayne County court.
Prosecutors say the 37-year-old Drennan stabbed his wife multiple times and hit her on the head with an unknown blunt object. He buried her body on a rocky Lake Ontario beach near the house in Williamson where the couple lived with his mother. The body was found there two days later.
They had been married for 24 days.
