Dansville, N.Y.- “Garden-themed” sculptures made by local students out of scrap metal were auctioned off, raising nearly $40,000 for the Red Cross.
Students from the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership’s Career and Tech Center made nearly 50 sculptures.
They’ve been lining the streets of Dansville for months and were finally auctioned off Saturday night.
Sandy Shaw, Executive Director for the Clara Barton #1 Chapter of the American Red Cross, said, "This community really came through to support a worthy cause. We are so thankful to the bidders, the merchants, the volunteers, and especially the students."
