La Jolla, Calif. – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney gave his first interview since losing the election in November.

In an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News, Romney said it “kills him” not to be in Washington, especially with the country facing sequestration and automatic spending cuts.

"I see this as this huge opportunity, and it's being squandered by politics, by people who are more interested in a political victory than they are in doing what's right for the country, and it's very frustrating, I have to tell you,” Romney said. “The hardest thing about losing is watching this critical moment, this golden moment, just slip away with politics."

Romney said he was convinced he would win the election until late on election night. He admitted his inability to connect with minorities cost him dearly.
