Rochester, N.Y.—Henry B’s has closed and will be replaced by Moe’s Southwest Grill, according to property owner David Christa.
A popular Seneca Falls Italian restaurant, Henry B’s ownership moved to 140 East Avenue in 2009, according to its website. Signs that say a new establishment will be coming soon can be seen from the building’s exterior. Henry B’s sign remains above the restaurant.
Attempts to reach the business’s owners were unsuccessful.
Moe’s Southwest Grill operates four locations in and around Rochester.
“With all the businesses in the area, I think they are looking for a concept like this,” said Moe’s owner Brad Degrazia.
Customers at the Henrietta Moe’s location were glad to hear of the news.
“They give you a decent amount of food for your money and as a college student, you look for value for your money,” said Nate Brown, an RIT senior.
Some in the business community on East Avenue were disappointed to hear of the change.
“I think Rochester actually needs some more high-end dining, but I think this will do well here,” said Dave Pontera, a former Seneca Falls patron of Henry B’s, and businessman.
Degrazia said his goal is to open Moe’s on East Avenue in November.
