Washington, D.C.-  Monroe County Court Judge Frank Geraci, Jr. was in Washington, D.C. Wednesday for his Senate Committee confirmation hearing.

President Obama nominated Judge Geraci earlier this year to be a U.S. District Court judge in Western New York. This, after a recommendation by Senator Chuck Schumer.

Judge Geraci attended high school at McQuaid Jesuit. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and University of Dayton Law School.

In November 1998, Judge Geraci was elected to a 10-year term as a Monroe County Court Judge and Acting Supreme Court Justice in the New York State Unified Court System. Before that he worked in the District Attorney’s office and the U.S. Attorney’s office.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Judge Geraci was questioned by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Senator Schumer recommended former Monroe County District Attorney Mike Green for the vacancy in 2010. His nomination stalled in the Senate and never came up for a full vote.
