Rochester, N.Y. - One of the inmates who escaped from the Monroe County Jail last year is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.

Joseph Mitchell faces up to seven years in prison.

Mitchell and fellow inmate Eddie Palmer escaped from the jail in March of 2011.

They were found a week later in Sodus when task force members said they entered a Sodus residence hoping to find associates of the inmates—and within moments, they realized there were people and activity in a nearby trailer.

It turned out that both inmates were there, and after a brief chase, they were taken into custody. The case that later resulted in a brouhaha about methods of guarding prisoners at the jail.

Palmer has already been sentenced to 3.5 to seven years for the escape.
