Greece, N.Y. – Hundreds of people flocked to Wegmans on Mt. Read Boulevard Saturday to dispose dangerous waste.

Monroe County sponsored a pharmaceutical waste collection to keep dangerous medicines from harming the environment.

Organizers say getting rid of the waste benefits everyone.

“We really appreciate people coming out and supporting out programs because we’re really doing it for them,” said Tom Sinclair, industrial waste engineer.

The collected medication will be safely disposed. The county also accepts hazardous waste by appointment.
