Albany/Rochester, N.Y. - New York State added nearly 6,000 private sector jobs last month.
That brings the number of added jobs for the year to more 110,000.
The state's unemployment rate for October dropped to 8.7 percent.
The Rochester area added 3,200 more jobs in October this year than last year.
