The next time you go to the movie theater you might see an ad during the previews designed to inspire you to become a firefighter.

One of the ads asks, "Is there a fire in you?"

The recruitment campaign, including TV commercials named "Why I Volunteer," highlights real-life volunteer firefighters and the important work they do every day.

They are designed to attract 15,000 new volunteer firefighters to address a statewide shortage.

The campaign was made possible by a $4.2 Million U.S. Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant. It is sponsored by the Fireman's Association Of New York.
