That's ridiculous. Randy Kuhl lost because he was a rubber stamp for Dubya, voting with him 87.9% of the time during his last term in office. The 29th district is not as conservative as the GOP has trended in the last decade or so, and Kuhl lost touch with his constituents. Upstate New York, right along with the rest of the northeast, is endangered territory for today's Republican party, which prefers to cater to ill-informed Glenn Beck and tea party crowd. After eight years of failure under Mr. Bush, it's no surprise Massa won the 29th district. If the 29th gets stuck with another character like "Randy the Dandy," it will be ripe for the taking two years later.

We don't need another RINO in Congress, We don't need Brooks or Kuhl in Congress. We need a real conservative Republican, like Reed. If the Republicans push either Brooks or Kuhl onto the ballot, I can guarantee that it will serve to further fracture relations between the Republican Party and its own conservative Republican factions as well as the Conservative Party and independent voters. Remember Kuhl lost because he was a RINO, not because Massa was a better candidate.
