Honeoye Falls, N.Y. – People across New York state are getting a sweet taste of what’s on tap at maple farms this weekend.
Adults and some hungry kids stopped by Trout Brook Sugarhouse as part of the state’s Maple Weekend celebration.
Maple producers are expecting a better year for their product in 2013 after a relatively warm season in 2012.
"I expect the season this year is probably going to continues through the end of March just because we haven't warmed up yet,” said Trout Brook’s Greg Keyes. "Although we've made a decent quantity of maple syrup to this point, the colder temperatures will lessen the volume of sap gathered and syrup made at this point."
Festivities continue Sunday and next weekend.
