Monroe County – In a draft report, the New York state comptroller accused Monroe County officials of favoring one company during the bidding process for a public safety contract.
The report claims the county provided key information about the contract to only one company, Navitech, which is owned by a former county official.
According to the report, that information gave Navitech a leg up in the bidding process.
Navitech was awarded a $224 million dollar contract in 2009.
The draft was released by the county this past week, along with a separate release criticizing the report.
The office of County Executive Maggie Brooks called the report “another baseless and deeply flawed,” claiming the bidding process was done aboveboard.
