Egypt, N.Y. - A spokesperson for Lollypop Farm said a neglected dog found last week in Fairport was euthanized.

The female dog was found near Perinton Parkway in a grassy area across from High Acres Landfill.

Veterinarians said the dog had massive hair loss due to a skin infection caused by chronic flea allergies, massively overgrown nails, and a neurological disorder affecting her hind end preventing her from being able to walk properly.

A spokesperson said after evaluating the animal, euthanizing her was the most humane course of action.

Investigators are still searching for the dog's owner. No one has come forward since the shelter made a plea to the public on Friday. If you have any information in the case, you're asked to call (585) 223-6500.
