Geneva, N.Y. – Shoppers will soon have a new place to pick up groceries and products in Geneva.
An expansion of the Walmart store at Routes 5 & 20 will be unveiled to the public Wednesday morning.
The store will be open 24 hours a day, and add 160 new jobs.
The new store will use energy-efficient technology. Skylights will reduce the energy to light the store by 75 percent. LED lighting will also be used in place of fluorescent light. Parts of cement used in the floor were created by recycled materials, and low-flow toilets and faucets used in the bathrooms will reduce water usage.
“We have a loyal customer base and some have been shopping here since our original opening,” store manager Sabrina Webster said in a statement. “We think they’ll love the new, easy-to-shop layout of the store and appreciate the savings we offer on the products they need.”
